Sir Elton John spent the weekend parading around Rome, where he celebrated his 71st birthday with husband David Furnish and sons Elijah and Zachary. Italian sources tell Page Six that the couple left the kids at home to spend a pre-birthday dinner Saturday with VIP friends at celeb fave restaurant Antica Pesa. The singer was in “great spirits and full of life,” said a spay of John, who arrived at about 8 pm and was greeted by Gucci creative guru Alessandro Michele with a big hug. “Elton and David indulged by sharing a carbonara pasta” our source added, “Elton, completely dressed in Gucci, wore a crucifix around his neck – appropriate for the Vatican, not far away.”
